Ian Ellis has been elected President of the Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA). Steve Harrison will be the new Vice-President.

Ian, who is marketing manager for Siemens Building Technologies, takes over from Doug Robins, who stepped down from the Association Presidency after three years.

"I am very proud to take up the Presidency of the BCIA. Our aim is to raise the profile of building controls with the construction industry, building owners and users.  I believe that building controls have a major role to play in reducing energy waste in buildings; helping  businesses reduce energy bills and carbon emissions," says Ian.

Ian adds: "We want to engage with Government and other industry bodies through our association with FETA, to ensure that they understand the benefits offered by building controls. The BCIA will be working to make certain that this message is delivered very clearly."

Steve Harrison, controls systems manager (Europe) for Johnson Controls, has been elected Vice President of the Association.  He says: "I am very pleased to accept this role. The BCIA membership is a significant group of companies, and the Association acts as a single voice representing the controls and BMS industry. BCIA members have demonstrated their commitment to high standards of training and performance for their employees."
