2012 BCIA Awards build on this year's success

The BCIA launches its National Conference and Exhibition to run alongside the 2012 BCIA Awards.

The 2011 BCIA Awards proved to be the Association's most successful event to date, with more than 250 guests filling the Park Room at the St John's hotel in May. Celebrity journalist Selina Scott was a popular host, handing out Awards to our winners and runners-up alongside the sponsors.

The event marked the fifth year of an annual Awards ceremony and gala dinner for the BCIA, and introduced several new elements including new entry forms and an independent judging panel. Sponsors for the 2012 Awards are: Centraline by Honeywell, Johnson Controls, KNX, MBS, Priva Building Intelligence, Siemens, Trend Control Systems and Western Automation.

With its eyes firmly on the future, the BCIA aims to build on the success of this year by growing our annual conference with the addition of an exhibition for 2012. The BCIA National Conference and Exhibition will take place on 10th May 2012, at the St John's Hotel Solihull in the morning and afternoon before our Awards Dinner.

The BCIA National Conference will be held in the Park Suite of the St John's Hotel, allowing us to use the same high quality audio-visual facilities that are employed during the evening's Awards ceremony. This will make the conference accessible to more delegates, and enable us to reach a wider audience with important messages.

The theme for the National Conference will be the key role that controls take in achieving energy efficiency, carbon reduction and lower energy bills. Expert speakers will offer a range of advice on the latest legislation, techniques and case studies.

Our Exhibition will run alongside the Conference, and delegates will be able to view the latest products from our industry and network with technical experts during breaks.

Anyone wishing to enter the 2012 BCIA Awards can now do so online at www.bcia-awards.co.uk. The Awards are open to BCIA members and non-members too. You can also see a video of the 2011 Awards, to get a taste of the evening's entertainment.
