Ensuring a successful future for the BEMS sector - today

Earning rave reviews from all participants, the Building Controls Industry Association’s Inspired Leaders programme will see a new cohort undertaking the 26-week programme in May – so don’t delay, book your place today!

Developed to support existing and future leaders with personal, professional and organisational development,  the Inspired Leaders programme is led by Michael Holbrow – a professional coach, mentor, and facilitator who has spent more than 30 years in the building controls and automation sector.

The specially-designed industry-centric leadership training programme encourages ‘leadership beyond boundaries’ for delegates with or without direct line management responsibilities. Furthermore, this highly useful programme educates those participating on the challenges and opportunities of leading within the BEMS industry.

During the 26-week programmes, participants take part in in-person immersion sessions, where they will work through leadership modules and hear from insightful guest speakers who share their own leadership journeys and speak candidly on the challenges they’ve faced and advice on overcoming them.

There is also exclusive access to a leadership platform that challenges application of learning throughout the working day.

The next Inspired Leaders programme starts on Tuesday 6th May 2025. Taking place over six months, the training programme costs £1,750+VAT. To join the next cohort, register your place before 28th April. For more information, and to book your place, click here.

One of the delegates in the recent February cohort highlighted the way in which the course encouraged participants to consider different approaches. Tom Fisher, Operations Director at PA Collacott & Co, said: “The programme has given me the ability and reason to look at people or scenarios from a different viewpoint. This has impacted some difficult conversations for the better.”

In addition to 100% of previous delegates revealing they had achieved all their learning objectives, facilitator/coach satisfaction and net promoter score – whether they would recommend the course to others – also reached the maximum percentage.

BCIA President Stacey Lucas highlighted the importance of culturing a positive, confident, and calm leadership group. She said: “Led by a brilliant coach in Michael, the Inspired Leaders programme will enable leaders to optimise work situations and professional relationships while ensuring those working underneath them feel supported and empowered.

“This really impactful programme will help all participants to be more confident to make good decisions while remaining calm under pressure and embrace the potential for leadership roles in the building controls and automation sector.”
