Contribution to Training Award 2026

Introduction

Awarded to the individual, company or organisation that has contributed to training on the installation, design and/or use of building controls and BEMS. This can include training for controls professionals, consultants and other intermediaries, clients, end-users or apprentices.

The training will have been significantly improved or updated in the 12 month period preceding the entry deadline and will be accessible for employers and learners.

Criteria for entry:

  • Training provision that has been available in the market for a minimum of 12 months preceding the entry deadline. 

  • Evidence of significant development or added value.  

  • Multiple nominations can only be submitted where the programmes are substantially different, delivered to different audiences and/or deliver different outcomes (e.g. cannot be part of a linked series or continuous training programme) 

The judges will be looking for evidence of:

  • The training given, content and delivery methods to ensure accessibility,  

  • How the training adds value to the industry through improvement in skills levels and quality/reputation.  

  • How the training aims to meet the objectives of trainees and how this is evaluated. 

  • Examples of how and why the training has developed or changed in the 12 month period preceding the entry deadline. 

  • How the outcomes are measured, what the successes have been and the results of the training programme. 

  • Supporting testimonial from a client/trainee – these are viewed as particularly important and can be from more than one person.
