BCIA launches engaging animation to increase industry understanding

As an organisation committed to driving the industry forward and increasing awareness of the importance of building controls and automation, the Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) has launched its informative and illustrative animated guide to building controls.

Launched to coincide with World Environment Day on Thursday 5th June, the colourful and engaging animation provides a clear overview of what building controls are, where they are used, and how they contribute to creating smarter, more energy-efficient buildings.

Designed for both industry professionals and the wider public, the animation highlights the growing importance of building automation in reducing carbon emissions and optimising building performance. It explains the key benefits of implementing Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) and showcases their contribution to sustainable building design and operations.

Stacey Lucas, President of the BCIA, believes the new animation will be a vital tool for anyone inside or outside the BEMS sector and one that would help raise the profile of building controls and automation.

She said: “We’re very proud of this new animation. It’s a straightforward and interesting way to detail everything there is to know about building controls and automation.”

“By shining a spotlight on the benefits of building controls and automation as well as focusing on the future, the animation is a clear and accessible resource available to all and is designed to support better understanding and encourage the adoption of smart technologies to create greener, more efficient buildings.”

As sustainability and energy efficiency continue to dominate the built environment agenda, the BCIA’s animation serves as a vital educational tool to promote industry progress and innovation.
