Young Engineer of the Year 2026

Introduction

Awarded to the individual aged 35 years or under who best demonstrates excellence in the implementation and progression of new business or industry concepts; displays leadership qualities and takes on new responsibilities. This award recognises the individual’s commitment to learning and personal and professional development as well as a contribution to improving business culture, progression and innovation. The recipient will have also displayed a significant advancement in their building controls career.

Criteria for entry:  

  • Must be under the age of 35 and currently working in the building controls industry. 

  • Personal and professional development and the impact evidenced in the awards entry must have been achieved within the 12 month period preceding the entry deadline. 

The judges will be looking for evidence of:  

  • Commitment to professional and personal development through informal and formal learning. 

  • Application of knowledge and advancement of technical and soft skills that has had a tangible impact on internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Implementation and progression of new concepts that have had an impact on their business and/or a project. 

  • Supporting testimonial (from a tutor, employer, client or similar)  

The closing date for entries is 22nd January 2026.
